Luise Marie Willer

Luise Willer ist wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Sonderforschungsbereich Intervenierende Künste und promoviert in Kunstgeschichte an der Freien Universität Berlin. In Theorie und Praxis ist sie an sozial orientierten künstlerischen Praktiken interessiert. Sie untersucht solche Praktiken, um mehr über deren Zukunftsvisionen, ihre kollaborativen Prozesse und ihre Kritik an Institutionen zu erfahren. In ihrem Dissertationsprojekt untersucht sie zeitgenössische künstlerische Praktiken, die sich den interventionistischen Charakter von Versammlungen zunutze machen, um auf politische und soziale Ordnungen und Institutionen einzuwirken. Im Rahmen des SFB hat sie die Reihe der ortsspezifischen Performances Tracing Influence, das Projekt Politics of (Dis)Assembling und die Programmreihe agrupa mit eingeladenen Künstlern wie Caroline Woolard, Ekaterina Selenkina, T. J. Demos oder Marina Naprushkina ko-kuratiert. Sie ist Mitherausgeberin der Publikation Politics of (Dis)Assembling, die 2025 bei HumDrumPress erscheinen wird. Zuvor studierte Luise Globale Kunstgeschichte bei Monica Juneja an der Universität Heidelberg und erwarb einen Abschluss in Museumsstudien an der École du Louvre, Paris. Luise war als Kuratorin am Centre Pompidou in Paris tätig und arbeitet auch auf unabhängiger Ebene mit kulturellen Institutionen und Initiativen zusammen. Zuletzt wurde Luise vom TRAM Réseau art contemporain Paris und dem DRAC Île-de-France Programm zu einem Kuratorenaufenthalt in die Cité international des arts in Paris eingeladen.

Luise Willer is a research associate at the Collaborate Research Center Intervening Arts and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Art History at the Free University of Berlin. In theory and in practice, she is interested in socially oriented artistic practices. She examines such practices to learn about their visions of futurity, their collaborative processes and their critique of institutions. Luise's dissertation project examines contemporary artistic practices that make use of the interventionist character of assemblies to impact political and social orders and institutions. In the context of the CRC she has co-curated the series of site-specific performances Tracing Influence, the project Politics of (Dis)Assembling and the program series agrupa with invitees such as Caroline Woolard, Ekaterina Selenkina, T. J. Demos or Marina Naprushkina. She is co-editor of the publication Politics of (Dis)Assembling, which will be published with humdrum press in 2025. Previously, Luise studied global art history with Monica Juneja at the University of Heidelberg and received a degree in museum studies from École du Louvre, Paris. Luise has held a curatorial position at the Centre Pompidou in Paris and also collaborates with cultural institutions and initiatives on an independent level. Most recently Luise was invited by the TRAM Réseau art contemporain Paris x the DRAC Île-de-France program for a curatorial residency at the Cité international des arts in Paris.
