Die Neue Nachbarschaft in Berlin-Moabit ist ein fortlaufendes soziales Projekt, das von Marina Naprushkina initiiert wurde. Mit dem Fokus auf Gemeinwesenarbeit mit Menschen mit Migrations- und Fluchtgeschichte unterstreicht die Arbeit einen transkulturellen Aspekt der »Intervention« und rückt damit die Komplexität der geopolitischen Prozesse und der aktuellen politischen Lage in der Region in den Vordergrund.

Neue Nachbarschaft (English)

The Neue Nachbarschaft in Berlin-Moabit is an ongoing socially-engaged project initiated by Marina Naprushkina. With the project's focus on community work with people primarily from migrant and refugee backgrounds, the work underlines a transcultural aspect of »intervening«, thus foregrounding the complexity of the geo-political processes and the current state of political affairs in the region.

In December 2022 Lena Pozdnyakova, João Gabriel Rizek, Tobias Rosen, Luise Marie Willer, and further researchers of the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) Intervening Arts came together with the community of Neue Nachbarschaft for an exchange of transdisciplinary and transcultural perspectives towards the notion of »intervention«.

The event reviewed the practice at the intersection of art and social realms, including participatory art forms such as service, activism, education, and community work. It covered a series of critical questions related to the structural aspects of collaboration, social and ethical ways of engagement, and the roles of various stakeholders in non-vertical and community-driven practices.

Artists from the Neue Nachbarschaft documented the event in form of »Ein Spaziergang durch unsere Nachbarschaft/A Walk Through Our Neighborhood«. You can also download the »Spaziergang/Walk« as a PDF.
