Simon Teune

Simon Teune (Dr. phil, FU Berlin) ist Soziologe mit dem Schwerpunkt Protest und soziale Bewegungen. Am Sonderforschungsbereich (SFB) Intervenierende Künste forscht er als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter zur Außenwirkung von künstlerischen Interventionen und fragt, auf welchen Wegen Kunst die Menschen erreicht und welche Spuren sie bei ihnen hinterlässt. Das Teilprojekt »Wirksamkeitserwartungen künstlerischer Interventionen«, in dem er mit Christian von Scheve und Laura Rogalski arbeitet, begleitet Kollektive aus dem Feld der Kunst und aus dem Feld sozialer Bewegungen, um zu verstehen, wie sie ihre Interventionen planen und welche Resonanz sie entfalten. Neben seiner Forschung im SFB ist Simon im selbstorganisierten Institut für Protest- und Bewegungsforschung aktiv, in dem er kollaborativ zu aktuellen Protesten forscht. Hier befragt er z.B. Menschen bei Demonstrationen oder rekonstruierte die Gewalteskalation um den G20-Gipfel in Hamburg 2017.

Simon Teune (Dr. phil., FU Berlin) is a sociologist specializing in protest and social movements. As a research associate at the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) Intervening Arts, he conducts research on the impact of artistic interventions. He seeks to understand how art reaches people and what traces it leaves behind. The project »Expectations of Impact of Artistic Interventions«, in which he works with Christian von Scheve and Laura Rogalski, accompanies collectives from the field of art and from the field of social movements in order to understand how they plan their interventions and what resonance they may entail. In addition to his research at the CRC, Simon is active at the Institute for the Study of Protest and Social Movements. At the self-organized institute, he conducts collaborative research on current protests with colleagues in the field. For example, he surveys people at demonstrations and he reconstructed the escalation of violence surrounding the G20 summit in Hamburg in 2017.
