Óscar Escudero

Óscar Escudero ist ein Post-Komponist, der mit Augmented Sound, Video und virtuellen Räumen spielt. Seine Arbeit verweist auf die Idee von sozialen Netzwerken als Ideologie, die Transformation ehemals analoger Konzepte von »Körper«, »Zeit« oder »Bühne« zu totalen virtuellen Repräsentationen und die Schaffung operativer künstlerischer Mittel innerhalb einer »SPAM-Realität«. Seit 2018 arbeitet er im Tandem mit der Post-Komponistin und Musikdramatikerin Belenish Moreno-Gil. 
Seine Ausbildung absolvierte er am Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón (Musikalische Komposition bei Jesús Rueda sowie Agustí Charles und Oboe bei Francisco Gil), an der Royal Academy of Music Aarhus (Masterstudiengang bei Simon Steen-Andersen, Niels Rønsholdt, Joanna Bailie) und an der Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität (Carola Bauckholt). Stark beeinflusst wurde er auch durch den persönlichen Rat von Persönlichkeiten wie Stefan Prins, Michael Beil, Rebecca Saunders oder Chaya Czernowin. 
Für seine Arbeit erhielt er verschiedene internationale Auszeichnungen, wie das Staatsstipendium für Komposition 2025, den Prix Ars Electronica 2021, den Giga-Hertz Spezialpreis 2018, den Busoni Förderpreis 2017, den Premio Jóvenes Compositores SGAE-CNDM 2015 sowie den ersten Preis des Thailand International Composition Festival 2013. 
Óscar ist derzeit Doktorand an der Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz unter der Leitung von François Sarhan, wo er das Potenzial von Escape Rooms als Modell für die Komposition von interaktiven Musiktheaterstücken untersucht.

Óscar Escudero is a post-composer playing with augmented sound, video and virtual spaces. His work focuses on social networks as ideology, the mutation of former-analogical concepts of »body«, »time« or »stage« as total virtual representations and the creation of operative artistic devices within a »SPAM reality«. Since 2018, he has worked in tandem with post-composer and musical dramatist Belenish Moreno-Gil.
He completed his training at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Aragón (musical composition with Jesús Rueda and Agustí Charles and oboe with Francisco Gil), at the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus (Master's Program with Simon Steen-Andersen, Niels Rønsholdt, Joanna Bailie) and at the Anton Bruckner Private University (Carola Bauckholt). He was also strongly influenced by the personal advice of personalities such as Stefan Prins, Michael Beil, Rebecca Saunders and Chaya Czernowin.
His work has been recognized with several international prizes, such as the Staatsstipendium für Komposition 2025, Prix Ars Electronica 2021, Giga-Hertz Spezialpreis 2018, Busoni Förderpreis 2017, Premio Jóvenes Compositores SGAE-CNDM 2015 and the First Prize of the Thailand International Composition Festival 2013.
Óscar is currently a PhD candidate at the Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität Linz under the supervision of François Sarhan, where he studies the potential of escape rooms as a model for the composition of interactive musical theater plays.
