Mateja Bučar

Mateja Bučar ist eine Choreografin und Tänzerin aus Ljubljana, Slowenien.
Sie erhielt eine frühe Ballettausbildung und schloss ihr akademisches Ballettstudium am Centre De Dance International Rosella Hightower 1980 in Cannes, Frankreich, ab. 1980 wurde sie Mitglied und später Solistin des Slowenischen Nationalballetts, 1986 auch Mitglied des Tanztheaters Ljubljana und seit 1999 arbeitet sie als führende Kraft in der DUM Association of Artits, die sich mit zeitgenössischer Kunstproduktion beschäftigt. Seit 1992 arbeitet sie kontinuierlich als Autorin von Choreographien und Tanzwerken.
In Zusammenarbeit mit dem bildenden Künstler Vadim Fishkin hat sie eine Reihe von außergewöhnlichen Werken geschaffen, darunter: »I would have Been a Palm Tree« (2022), eine Serie von urbanen Choreographien (Geen Ligh, The Unnoticed, Green Table, Dual (2010-2018)), »Sorry Out of Ideas« (2009), »Room&Road« (2014,) »On(The)Line« (2017), »Dancers Without Answers« (2018), »Parquet Ball« (2020), »House Rules« (2022).
2005 erhielt sie den Preis der Stadt Ljubljana für ihre choreografische Arbeit »Župančiveva nagrada«, 2015 den Ksenija-Hribar-Preis, eine bedeutende Auszeichnung für 20 Jahre künstlerische Arbeit, sowie einen Doktortitel des Trinity Laban Conservatory and Music and Dance der University of London.
Gezeigt werden ihre Arbeiten weiterhin in Italien, Österreich, Kroatien, Ungarn, Deutschland, Russland, Frankreich, Polen, Schweden, der Niederlande, im Vereinigten Königreich, …

Mateja Bučar is a choreographer and dancer from Ljubljana, Slovenia.Educated in early ballet training, she concluded her academic ballet studies on Centre De Dance International Rosella Hightower in 1980 in Cannes, France. In 1980 she became a member and later soloist of Slovenian National Ballet, in 1986 also a member of Dance Theatre Ljubljana and from 1999 on she is working as a leading force at DUM Association of Artists, involved with contemporary art production. From 1992 onward she has been continuously working as an author of choreographic and dance works.In 2005 she received the Ljubljana City award for her choreogrphic work »Županciveva nagrada«, in 2015 the Ksenija Hribar Award, a major award for 20 years of artistic work, as well as a PhD by the Trinity Laban Conservatory and Music and Dance at the University of London.She has created a number of exceptional works in collaboration with visual artist Vadim Fishkin among which number: »I would have Been a Palm Tree« (2010), a Series of Urban Choreography (Geen Ligh, The Unnoticed, Green Table, Dual (2010-2018)), »Sorry Out of Ideas« (2009), »Room&Road« (2014), »On(The)Line« (2017), »Dancers Without Answers« (2018), »Parquet Ball« (2020), »House Rules« (2022).
