Kelly Krugman

Kelly Krugman (*1994, New Jersey) ist eine mexikanisch-amerikanische Kuratorin, Redakteurin und Projektkoordinatorin bei SAVVY Contemporary in Berlin. Ihre Arbeit bewegt sich an den Schnittstellen von Kunst, Literatur und Performance und verhandelt Fragen von Widerstand, Erinnerung und Wissensproduktion.

Nach einem Studium der Vergleichenden Literaturwissenschaft, Bildenden Kunst und Performance Studies am Amherst College war Krugman an kuratorischen Projekten wie Ecologies of Darkness (2018–2019), Ultrasanity (2019) und Raupenimmersattism (2020) beteiligt – Ausstellungen, die sich mit feministischen Allianzen, psychiatriekritischen Perspektiven und den Mechanismen endlosen Konsums auseinandersetzten. 

Als Mitkuratorin von SAVVYZAAR, dem Radioprojekt von SAVVY Contemporary, erforscht sie gemeinsam mit Kamila Metwaly und Arlette-Louise Ndakoze Klang als Medium des Protests, der Heilung und der Dekolonisierung. Krugmans Praxis verbindet Theorie mit künstlerischer Intervention und schafft Räume, in denen Marginalisiertes hörbar wird.

Kelly Krugman (*1994, New Jersey) is a Mexican-American curator, editor and project coordinator at SAVVY Contemporary in Berlin. Her work is situated at the intersection of art, literature and performance and deals with questions of resistance, memory and knowledge production. 

After studying comparative literature, fine arts and performance studies at Amherst College, Krugman was involved in curatorial projects such as Ecologies of Darkness (2018-2019), Ultrasanity (2019) and Raupenimmersattism (2020) – exhibitions that explored feminist alliances, psychiatry-critical perspectives and the mechanisms of endless consumption. 

As co-curator of SAVVYZAAR, SAVVY Contemporary's radio project, she explores sound as a medium of protest, healing and decolonization together with Kamila Metwaly and Arlette-Louise Ndakoze. Krugman's practice combines theory with artistic intervention and creates spaces in which the marginalized become audible.
