Judith Siegmund

Judith Siegmund, Philosophin und bildende Künstlerin, ist Professorin für philosophische Ästhetik an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, von 2018-21 hatte sie die Professur für Gegenwartsästhetik an der Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart inne, wo sie mit anderen zusammen den »Campus Gegenwart« sowie den Masterstudiengang »Theorie und Praxis experimenteller Performance« aufgebaut hat.

Sie kommt aus der Philosophie und der bildenden Kunst und war von 2011 bis 2018 Juniorprofessorin für Theorie der Gestaltung/Ästhetische Theorie sowie Gendertheorie an der Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK). Dort gründete sie das dreijährige Forschungsprojekt »Autonomie und Funktionalisierung – eine ästhetisch-kulturhistorische Analyse der Kunstbegriffe in der bildenden Kunst in Berlin von den 1990er Jahren bis heute«.

Judith Siegmund war assoziiertes Mitglied im Graduiertenkolleg der UdK Das Wissen der Künste und ist zur Zeit assoziiertes Mitglied im Sonderforschungsbereich Intervenierende Künste an der Freien Universität Berlin.

Judith Siegmund, a philosopher and visual artist, is a professor of philosophical aesthetics at the Zurich University of the Arts. From 2018 to 2021, she held the Professorship for Contemporary Aesthetics at the State University of Music and the Performing Arts in Stuttgart, where she collaborated with others to establish the Campus Gegenwart and the Master's programme Theorie und Praxis experimenteller Performance.
She has a background in philosophy and the visual arts and was a junior professor of design theory/aesthetic theory and gender theory at the Berlin University of the Arts from 2011 to 2018. There, she founded the three-year research project »Autonomie und Funktionalisierung – eine ästhetisch-kulturhistorische Analyse der Kunstbegriffe in der bildenden Kunst in Berlin von den 1990er Jahren bis heute«.
Judith Siegmund was an associate member of the graduate programme Das Wissen der Künste at the Berlin University of the Arts and is currently an associate member of the Collaborative Research Centre Intervening Arts at the Free University of Berlin.
