Christoph Balzar

Dr. Christoph Balzar is an art historian, museum curator, and scholar based in Berlin. He holds a PhD from the University of Bonn, where he researched the decolonization of museums and the epistemic violence of ethnographic collections. He is involved in international curatorial projects and works closely with private and public institutions on provenance research, memorial culture and community art. Balzar teaches at institutions including the UdK Berlin, the University of Potsdam and the HBK Braunschweig. As a founding member and curator of BARAZANI.berlin, he fosters critical discourses on museum practices and memory politics.
