Azadeh Ganjeh

Azadeh Ganjeh ist Performancekünstlerin, Regisseurin, Dramaturgin und Wissenschaftlerin. Sie lehrt als Professorin für Performative Künste im Sozialen an der Hochschule für Künste im Sozialen (HKS) Ottersberg. Nach einem Studium des Bauingenieurwesens in Teheran absolvierte sie einen Master in Theaterregie an der Teheran Art University und promovierte 2017 in Philosophie mit Schwerpunkt Theaterwissenschaft an der Universität Bern. Ihre beruflichen Stationen umfassen eine Professur an der Universität Teheran sowie wissenschaftliche Tätigkeiten an den Universitäten Bern und Hildesheim. Im Rahmen des Sonderforschungsbereichs (SFB) Intervenierende Künste ist sie als Mercator-Fellow mit dem Projekt Not a Body for Burial: Digital Activism Against Withering Wetlands beteiligt.

In Forschung und Praxis beschäftigt sie sich mit sozial engagiertem Theater, performativen Interventionen im öffentlichen Raum und der ästhetischen und politischen Dimension partizipativer Kunstformen. Ihre Arbeit verbindet performative Theorien mit aktivistischen Ansätzen und fokussiert auf Fragen der Emanzipation, kulturellen Mobilität und Performativität öffentlicher Ereignisse.

Azadeh Ganjeh is a performance artist, director, dramaturge and scholar. She teaches as a professor of performative arts in the social sphere at the University of Arts in the Social Sphere (HKS) in Ottersberg. After studying civil engineering in Tehran, she completed a master's degree in theater directing at Tehran Art University and received her doctorate in philosophy with a focus on theater studies from the University of Bern in 2017. Her professional career includes a professorship at the University of Tehran and research activities at the Universities of Bern and Hildesheim. As part of the Collaborative Research Center (SFB) Intervening Arts, she is involved as a Mercator Fellow in the project Not a Body for Burial: Digital Activism Against Withering Wetlands.

In her research and practice, she focuses on socially engaged theater, performative interventions in public space and the aesthetic and political dimensions of participatory art forms. Her work combines performative theories with activist approaches and focuses on questions of emancipation, cultural mobility and the performativity of public events.
